WYLP Learner of the Year Award

On Thursday the 6th September CMS attended the 3rd WYLP (West Yorkshire Learning Providers) Learner of the year award at the Galpharm Stadium in Huddersfield and were proud to see one of our learners walk away with an award.  The awards were presented by Sam Barlow of The Huddersfield Giants. Stacey Greaves received a trophy for apprentice of the month for May.

Arifa Gora, a learner who attended the Batley Centre and won Apprentice of the Month and the CMS award at last years award ceremony, gave a moving speech about the progress she had made whilst on the apprenticeship programme with CMS.  She gave special thanks to her trainer Karen Taylor from the Batley centre who she said, had supported her through some tricky times, encouraged her and helped her with her confidence.  Arifa is now employed by Inesons Solicitors in Cleckheaton.  Arifa has completed a level 2 apprenticeship in Business Administration and has almost completed an advanced apprenticeship in Business Administration.

Apprenticeship Achievement Success

The percentage achievement for both the apprenticeship and advanced apprenticeship programmes have increased year on year in West Yorkshire since 2004.  For the last 2 years the achievement rate for apprenticeships and advanced apprenticeships in West Yorkshire has been above the 40% LSC target

At CMS Vocational Training the percentage of learners achieving apprenticeships and advanced apprenticeships has been above 80% for the last 3 years, much higher than the LSC target and the West Yorkshire average.  This confirms that CMS is one of the best providers in West Yorkshire.
