On completion of this course delegates will understand:
The requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act in relation to their work place environment. The Act requires employees/employers to take active measures to ensure a safe place of work.
Their responsibility with regards to the legal requirements relating to work place safety.
Their responsibilities as laid out in the 'Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992'
The importance and application of risk assessment in the workplace
Managers, Supervisors, Safety Professionals, Safety Representatives, Site Forepersons, Anyone required to use lifting techniques as part of their job
No prior knowledge required, although a basic awareness of health and safety is preferable
